TV Series 2022

Inspired by Harry Gruyaert's TV Shots from 1972, I approached this project by filming a street walk in a UK city with a low-quality video camera. I embraced its flaws—shooting in bad weather and promoting blur, grain, and visual noise—to enhance creativity. I then played the footage on a widescreen TV and photographed the screen, merging two forms of imaging. This method helped me break down everyday city scenes into studies of color, shape, and contrast. By using different devices, each with its imperfections, I distorted reality to reveal hidden aesthetic qualities. This approach sees photography as more than documentation—it's an expressive art that explores perception, memory, and the fragmented nature of visual experience in today's digital world.
